What exactly does it compare?
Two things: the labor hours a job took against the hours you bid, and the media pounds you used against the pounds you bid. It does not compare dollars, and it does not tell you your margin on a job. It tells you whether you sized the work right.
How many jobs before it is useful?
It starts after your first completed job, but one job is one job. It gets more useful as you finish more of them, because the numbers are averaged per job type. Treat an early reading as a hint, not a verdict.
Does it work offline?
No. This is the one screen in BlastBid that needs a signal. The comparison is worked out on the server across all of your completed jobs, so there is nothing saved on the phone to show you. Everything else in the app, including logging the actual hours and media that feed it, works with no bars.
Does it change my future estimates automatically?
No. It reports, you decide. If it says your labor is running 17% low on residential work, that is your cue to raise your labor rate or your production assumption for that kind of job. BlastBid will not quietly reprice anything behind your back.
